Celebrating the Retirement of Frank Joe

On Friday, October 10, Splatsin Development Corporation (SDC) hosted a special gathering under the big white tent at the Quilakwa Campground to celebrate the retirement of Frank Joe, RFT, who recently concluded his time as Forestry Manager with SDC subsidiary, Yucwmenlúcwu (Caretakers of the Land) LLP.

Frank joined SDC in June 2022 as Forestry Manager, following his earlier work with Splatsin’s Title & Rights Department, where he served as Territorial Lands Manager from October 2020 to June 2022. His expertise, leadership, and tireless dedication have been instrumental in advancing the Forestry Department’s growth and helping realize a strong vision for the future of forestry within SDC.

In his message to colleagues, Frank expressed gratitude for the support he’s received over the past three years and confidence that Kyle Runzer, the new Forestry Manager, will continue to strengthen the in-house forestry team. Though now enjoying semi-retirement, Frank will continue to provide senior advisory services to SDC.

Frank and his wife have relocated to Campbell River on Vancouver Island, where they are settling into their next chapter. His hard work, intelligence, and contributions have made a lasting impact—he will be deeply missed across the organization.

Kukwstsamc, Frank, for your dedication, leadership, and years of service. We wish you all the best in this new journey.
