SDC CEO Grahame Go Featured on CBC Radio West Following Historic Fuel Event at Quilakwa Canco

Splatsin Development Corporation (SDC) CEO Grahame Go was featured yesterday on CBC Radio West discussing the remarkable response to the fuel pricing event that took place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Quilakwa Canco in Enderby.

Owned and operated by Quilakwa Investments, a subsidiary of Splatsin Development Corporation, Quilakwa Canco became the centre of attention across the North Okanagan after fuel prices temporarily dropped to levels not seen in decades. The event attracted drivers from throughout the region, with vehicle lineups stretching for nearly two kilometres at peak times.

Despite the extraordinary turnout, the atmosphere throughout the day remained overwhelmingly positive. Customers were patient, respectful, and courteous as staff worked hard to keep traffic moving and ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience.

“It was incredible to see the community response,” said Grahame Go during the CBC interview. “People were excited, appreciative, and in great spirits throughout the day.”

The fuel event generated significant regional media attention and quickly became a major talking point across the Okanagan and Shuswap as residents and travellers gathered to take advantage of the rare pricing opportunity.

During the CBC Radio West interview, Grahame Go spoke about the strong community response, the positive atmosphere throughout the day, and the excitement generated by the event.

Located at 5655 Highway 97A, Quilakwa Canco is a 100% Indigenous-owned and operated full-service fuel station proudly serving the region. Established in 1984, the site was the first gas station located on a First Nations reserve, representing an important milestone in Indigenous business development and economic participation in the region.

Today, Quilakwa Canco continues to play an important role in serving both local residents and travellers along the Trans-Canada Highway while supporting economic development initiatives connected to Splatsin and the broader community.
